Collection Item Dropdown behaves like a drawer trigger instead of a real dropdown

Hi,

While using the “Collection Item Dropdown” interface, we noticed that it doesn’t behave like an actual dropdown. Instead, it acts as a button that opens a drawer.

Usage context

We use this component to configure several product attributes (around 5).
Since each field opens a drawer, the user has to perform many clicks and navigation steps, making the workflow quite heavy and not very user-friendly.

Problem

  • The component is named Dropdown, but does not provide any dropdown-like behavior (no inline menu).

  • We couldn’t find any option in the UI or documentation to:

    • switch between dropdown vs drawer mode,

    • or disable the drawer behavior.

Questions

  • Are we misunderstanding the intended behavior of this component?

  • Is this a naming issue where the component does not match its expected functionality?

  • Or is it simply a current UI limitation where only the drawer mode is available?

Suggestion

It would be very helpful to have a true inline dropdown mode, especially for setups involving multiple fields that require quick adjustments without opening drawers.

This is currently indeed simply a current UI limitation where only the drawer mode is available. I’ve jotted down your comment on our end so we can track this as a feature request internally. Thanks!
